We can officially say we are plus 1. We are no longer The Torres Two, because baby makes three!  Just two quick days after we got the news of a wonderful ultrasound and found out that Baby T was a he, we got THE phone call. The phone call we had been jumping up for every time the phone rang for the past couple of weeks. It has been the most exhausting, exhilarating, blessed, and anticipated couples days we’ve ever had. We are in complete awe of our Great God. Late Friday night Chris and I were shopping for baby stuff at Target and time stood still when my phone rang with a special ring tone set for the birth mom. I took a deep breath and answered the phone. And I feel like we haven’t stopped yet…

Over the last two days we have experienced every emotion possible. It has been a whirlwind. Adoption is HARD. It is messy and awkward. But in all of the mess it is so amazingly beautiful. I can’t begin to describe what it was like to have my son placed in my arms by the woman who grew and housed him all these months. To hear her say here’s your son. It’s a moment in time I will absolutely never forget. Isaiah Jude Torres was born on Sunday June 3rd at 1:54 am. Despite all of our concerns about his health he is PERFECT weighing in at 7 lbs 3 oz. and 20 1/2 inches long. Saturday was such an amazing day.

We truly can’t describe the pain and heartache but sheer joy we’re still going through. People told us about what adopting does to your heart and what you’ll experience but you just can’t be prepared for this. There were some beautiful moments that we got to experience as Isaiah’s birth mom kissed him goodbye and left him with us forever. It was the hardest thing we’ve ever been through and without a doubt the most beautiful thing we’ve ever seen. We are so incredibly grateful to this miracle God has given to us. Our story is amazing and this little boy has stolen our hearts forever.

We thank you all so much for your prayers and support with Isaiah’s arrival.  We do however have an immediate URGENT need! We have paid approximately $8,000.00 of our own funds into this process, however we are approximately $8,000.00 short, and due to some unforeseen costs, we need the money by the end of this week.  Before the birthparents can relinquish their rights, we have to pay our agency and attorneys.  We know that $8,000.00 is a very steep number, however God can do all things, so we are confident that he will provide. If you can help us out, we would be incredibly thankful, but if you cannot, that is okay.  Either way, please by praying for us.
