When we were in the very early stages of talking about adoption I was doing a lot of research. Well honestly I’m still doing a lot of research, I can’t get enough of the adoption blogs. It’s an addiction, I’m working on it. I had heard about Katie Davis but never really knew who she was and what exactly she was doing. God used her to speak to me. There was no doubt she was supposed to be apart of our adoption story. As I read her story and watched videos on what she’s doing in Uganda my heart broke, not only for adoption but for adoption in Africa. He used her story to soften my heart and open my eyes to see that what we’re wanting to pursue is indeed possible. If this young woman could uproot her entire life and care for more than a dozen adopted children then my husband and I (living in America no less) could definitely handle one. And since then I’ve been coming across many stories convicting me of my selfishness and reminding me that this is indeed what God is calling us to do. Now I’m dreaming of the day that we’ll be coming home from Africa with that missing piece of our family that was always destined to be there. I can’t wait to meet you sweet one, be prepared I’m a spoiler.
